The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) Lisa Madigan is offering two upcoming educational opportunities for those who provide care to sexual assault survivors. IHA encourages members to take advantage of these opportunities as they become available.
Foundation to Provide Sexual Assault Patient Care in the Emergency Room Training takes place on May 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Morris Hospital. It is designed for emergency room nurses, mid-level providers, physicians, law enforcement, advocates and first responders. The application deadline for this training is May 16.
Adult/Adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Didactic Training will be held June 5 -7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois. This program is designed to educate registered nurses, mid-level providers and physicians performing sexual assault medical-forensic examinations. The application deadline for this training is May 3. Online coursework must be completed by May 31. Please note that this training requires the submission of a resume or CV for participation consideration.
