2019 Annual Hospital Questionnaire Opens Feb. 15 including Mandatory Supplier Diversity Reporting
The Health Facilities and Services Review Board (HFSRB) is releasing the Annual Hospital Questionnaire (AHQ) on Feb. 15. Hospitals will have until April 5 to complete their questionnaire. Revisions to submitted applications will be accepted during the open questionnaire period by presenting the changes to the HFSRB. As a reminder, for hospitals with more than 100 beds, reporting is now required for construction-related capital expenditure goals and actual spending for female-owned, minority-owned, veteran-owned and small business enterprises, as a percentage of total construction-related capital expenditures. An IHA memo further outlines the reporting requirements for applicable hospitals.
It is imperative that applicable hospitals comply with the reporting requirements for diverse capital expenditure goals and spending. The issue of supplier diversity is of major interest to many members of the General Assembly as well as Governor Pritzker. Failure to comply with these requirements may cause policymakers to believe that hospitals are not taking this issue seriously and taking steps to increase usage of diverse suppliers.
IHA is developing a member call with HFSRB staff to address general questions about the 2019 AHQ or questions related to the supplier diversity reporting. Details will be available soon.
In addition, the IHA Supplier Diversity Task Force has been meeting since the fall 2018 to develop sample policies, contracting and reporting tools for those hospitals still establishing their supplier diversity programs. The Task Force is working to have those resources available on the Supplier Diversity page of the IHA website in March, which may be of help as hospitals complete the Supplier Diversity portion of the AHQ.
