May 5, 2020
May 5 is not only Cinco de Mayo but it is also World Asthma Day. The National Institutes of Health stands with patients, families, advocates, researchers, and healthcare professionals to raise awareness about this common chronic respiratory disease, the people it affects, and the biomedical research that improves its prevention and treatment.
National Nurses Week starts tomorrow, May 6, and ends on Florence Nightingale’s birthday, May 12. This year’s theme—Compassion, Expertise and Trust—is a testament to the heroic efforts on display during the COVID-19 pandemic. IHA salutes our healthcare heroes not only during National Nurses Week but each and every day.
