IDHS-Funded Organizational Survey
April 22, 2020
On Tuesday, the Illinois Dept. of Human Services (DHS) requested that all agency-funded organizations and independent practitioners that are unable to provide services or are experiencing limited service delivery should complete the survey. The survey informs IDHS whether a provider has or has not applied for forgivable loans through the CARES Act’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) or for benefits through the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program, requiring providers to certify and attest any actions an agency has taken related to the CARES Act. This will provide information needed to ensure IDHS payments to maintain the service delivery system are not duplicative of expenditures covered by the federal Payment Protection Program or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program for April 2020.
IDHS’ aim is to use all available federal funding first and then turn to State resources to keep providers funded. This will help to ensure that IDHS does not duplicate expenses covered by the new federal funding opportunities, remains in compliance with federal and state government guidelines around the CARES Act, and maximizes the availability of limited State dollars. As this process moves ahead, if your organization has questions about the PPP or other federal relief options, email DHS.PPPQuestions@illinois.gov.
