The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing organizations to evolve. Plan your next move by attending “COVID-19: What’s Next and How to Plan,” an IHA webinar led by Martin A. Makary, MD, on July 9.
“Early on, we didn’t quite know what we were dealing with,” Dr. Makary wrote in a recent New York Times opinion piece. “But now that we have better information, we should use a more surgical approach to fight the virus to minimize the damage.” Dr. Makary, surgeon and professor at Johns Hopkins University, will translate his experience as a surgical oncologist and public health expert into a post-pandemic roadmap for hospitals and health systems. He’ll provide an overview of data from the latest national and international studies on COVID-19, while describing best practices for employee policies.
The one-hour webinar is the second installment in IHA’s complimentary summer series, Leadership and Resiliency: Navigating Through and Beyond COVID-19.
Hospital leaders may also recognize Dr. Makary as:
- Editor-in-chief of MedPage Today;
- Founder and principal investigator of “Improving Wisely,” a project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to reduce healthcare costs and improve quality; and
- Recipient of the 2015 Nobility in Science award from the National Pancreas Foundation for his outstanding achievements in pancreatic cancer research and treatment.
C-suite and department leaders are encouraged to attend. For the full agenda and information on continuing education credits, see our registration page.
