Correction 2Q 2020 MCO-HAP Payments

June 12, 2020

MEMORANDUM

The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) released a notice that identifies a correction process for the Quarter 2 2020 managed care organization hospital access program payments (MCO-HAP).

The calculation of directed payments for the April and May MCO-HAP payments contained an error in the data pull at HFS. The correction was made by calculating the entire quarter’s directed payments, the increase to directed payments due to COVID relief, and pass-through payments based on the corrected data pull. HFS has corrected that error by adjusting the MCO-HAP payments for June so that the sum of all three payments will correctly reflect what each hospital should have received for the quarter including the COVID-19 relief increase. The June payments has been adjusted so that the three payments for the quarter total the correct amount.

Click here for the HFS report of the quarterly payment totals by hospital. Hospitals may confirm their three payments for the quarter add up to the correct amount identified on the report.

IHA does not have any of the data that was used to correct the initial errors. All questions regarding your payment amounts need to be directed to HFS. The HFS notice specifies any questions regarding this notice or calculation may be directed to HFS.Hospitals@Illinois.gov.
