Illinois Healthcare Coalitions

Illinois hospitals are collaborating to improve emergency preparedness. Through regional healthcare coalitions, our members work together to prepare for, respond to and recover from incidents. Their efforts address both short- and long-term impact on the public health and medical treatment. A healthcare coalition’s primary function is to engage in emergency preparedness activities.

Each coalition is led by an individual healthcare organization or the Regional Hospital Coordinating Center (RHCC). The RHCC:

  • Coordinates coalition partners;
  • Acts as a liaison between the Illinois Department of Public Health and local partners;
  • Provides situational awareness; and
  • Shares information and resources.
