Shriver Center FAQ on COVID-19 Medicaid Enrollment

The Shriver Center on Poverty Law and other consumer advocate groups have published a COVID-19 FAQ for Illinois Enrollment Assisters. The document answers a number of questions about Medicaid enrollment flexibilities during the COVID-19 emergency, including:
The new Medicaid Adult Presumptive Eligibility (PE) program for MAGI adults;

• Medicaid Spenddown;
• Medically urgent cases escalation process;
• Redeterminations;
• Suspension of copayments and premiums; and
• Impact of Public Charge rule on applying for Medicaid.

The FAQ also provides links to guidance released by the Illinois Dept. of Healthcare & Family Services and the Illinois Dept. of Human Services on Medicaid eligibility.
