New Coronavirus Hotline, Email for Illinoisans

The Illinois Dept. of Public Health (IDPH), in coordination with the Illinois Poison Center (IPC), have launched the Illinois Novel Coronavirus Hotline and email address to answer questions that local health departments, clinicians and the general public may have regarding the 2019 novel coronavirus.

Illinoisans can dial the hotline—800-889-3931—24-hours a day, seven days a week. Questions can be emailed to DPH.Sick@Illinois.gov

Meanwhile, the two people in Illinois with confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus were discharged from the hospital yesterday to home isolation where they will continue to be monitored. According to IDPH data, 49 people in Illinois have been tested for the virus, with 21 pending results, 26 negative results and two positive results.
